Therapeutic Massage for Women in Lake Mary

What I call therapeutic massage is a deep tissue massage with stretches to improve joint flexibility. Designed to relieve severe tension, it’s a technique used to relieve both muscles and connective tissue below the surface, with firm pressure.

What it is

Therapeutic massage is slower, firmer, and more focused than relaxation massage. Instead of an even, full-body routine, we spend the time where your body is actually holding tension, whether that’s your neck and shoulders from a desk job, your lower back and hips from standing all day, or the leftover tightness from a workout. It’s still a comfortable massage. It’s just a more targeted one.

Who it’s for

Therapeutic massage suits women with specific areas of tension: a stiff neck, knots between the shoulder blades, a tight lower back, sore hips, or tired legs. It’s popular with women who work at desks, stand or walk all day, lift and care for others, or train regularly. Nurses especially.

What a session feels like

We’ll start by talking through where you feel it, how long it’s been going on, and anything that makes it better or worse. Then I’ll work more slowly and deeply on those areas, using firmer, focused techniques, and I’ll keep checking in on pressure. Good therapeutic work should feel productive, even intense at times, but never like something you have to endure. If you find yourself tensing up or holding your breath, it’s too much, and I want you to tell me.

A nurse’s eye on your health form

Because firmer work matters more when health factors are involved, I read your intake form carefully. As a registered nurse, I know that blood thinners, recent surgeries, osteoporosis, and reduced sensation all change how deep work should be done. That’s not to make things complicated. It’s to make sure the pressure you get is both effective and safe.

What it may help with

Therapeutic massage may help ease muscle tension and stiffness, loosen areas that feel stuck, and support recovery from everyday strain, long shifts, and active training. You may feel a little tender the day after firm work. That’s common and usually fades quickly.

Session length and price

60 minutes, $90. This is the only length offered for therapeutic massage.

Good to know

Therapeutic massage isn’t a replacement for medical care. If you have a recent injury, sharp or worsening pain, numbness, or a condition you’re unsure about, check with your doctor before booking. If you just want to unwind rather than work on problem areas, relaxation massage may suit you better.

A few quick questions

Will therapeutic massage hurt?

It shouldn’t. You may feel strong pressure in tight spots, but it should stay in the range you can breathe through. Tell me if it’s too much.

How is it different from relaxation massage?

The pace is slower and the pressure is firmer and more focused. Relaxation massage is broader and gentler.

Can I combine it with relaxation?

Yes. Many sessions start gently and go deeper on the areas you choose. Tell me what you’d like when you book.
