Women’s FAQ

Questions Women Ask Before a Massage

These are the questions I hear most, answered plainly. New to massage? Read what to expect at your first massage. If yours isn’t here, call or text. I’m happy to talk it through before you book.

What should I wear?

Whatever’s comfortable to arrive in. You’ll change privately, and you’re covered with a sheet the whole session.

How much do I have to undress?

Only as much as you’re comfortable with. Many women undress to their underwear, and some keep more on. Every choice is fine, and I’ll work around it.

How does draping work?

You’re under a sheet the whole time, and only the area I’m working on is uncovered. Draping keeps you warm and private, and it’s a professional boundary I take seriously.

Do I need to shave?

No. Truly, no. I’m paying attention to your muscles, not your hairs.

I’m self-conscious about my body. Is that okay?

Completely. Stretch marks, scars, cellulite, weight: none of it matters to me, and it’s a big part of why this practice is women-only. If something specific worries you, tell me and I’ll adjust the positioning or draping. Read more about your first massage.

Can I ask you to skip an area?

Always, with no reason needed, and you can change your mind mid-session.

What if the pressure is wrong?

Tell me right away. Too much, too little, or anything that feels sharp or off. You won’t hurt my feelings, and more pressure isn’t automatically better.

Do I have to talk?

If your goal is to relax, it helps to keep talking to a minimum, mostly just to tell me if you’d like more pressure, less pressure, or if something is bothering you. If you’d like to chat about anything else, I’m happy to, before or after your session.

Can I get a massage on my period?

Usually, yes. We’ll adjust pressure, positioning, and focus to how you feel that day. More on massage during your period.

Can I get a massage while pregnant?

Please check with your doctor or midwife first, and tell me how far along you are when you book. I’ll tell you honestly whether I think massage is right for you at this stage.

Why women only?

So you can fully relax. Many women find it easier to settle in, speak up, and stop thinking about how they look when they know every client is a woman. That’s what this practice is built for.

You’re a nurse too. Does that change anything?

I’m a registered nurse as well as a licensed massage therapist, so I pay close attention to your health form: medications, recent surgeries, and conditions that affect how massage should be done. It makes me careful. Sessions here are massage therapy, not nursing care.

Do I need to tell you about medications or health conditions?

Yes, please. Things like blood thinners, recent surgery, or reduced sensation change how I work. Everything you share stays confidential. You can fill in the new client form online before your first visit.

What if I fall asleep?

Then I did my job well! It happens to clients who are able to fully relax and put all their worries away for an hour.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. I’m licensed in Florida as a massage therapist (license MA110275), and I’m fully insured.

How do I book?

Just call or text 904-501-2844.

How do I pay, and what’s your cancellation policy?

You can pay with Venmo, PayPal, Zelle, Cash App, or cash. You can cancel or reschedule up to 24 hours before your massage. A cancellation within 24 hours (unless it is an emergency) or a no-show carries a $20 fee.

Do you sell gift certificates?

Yes. You can buy a gift card online on the gift certificates page, and it is sent by text or email. Or call or text and I will help you.
