Prenatal Massage for Women in Lake Mary
Gentle, supportive bodywork for the months of carrying a baby.
What it is
Prenatal massage is adapted for pregnancy: gentle pressure, careful positioning on your sides, with pillows and bolsters, and a session paced around how you feel that day. It’s meant to support comfort, and it can be a welcome hour of rest.
Who it’s for
- Expectant mothers who would like an hour of care and rest
- Women whose backs, hips or feet are feeling the load of pregnancy
- Anyone whose provider has said massage is fine for them
Before you book
Please check with your doctor or midwife before booking a prenatal massage, and tell me how far along you are and about any complications or guidance you’ve been given. If your provider advises against massage, I’ll ask you to wait. Your comfort and safety come first.
What a session feels like
Gentle to medium pressure, in a position that works for you. I’ll check in often, and you can ask to stop or adjust at any time. You’ll be covered by a sheet and blanket throughout, and I’ll only uncover the area I’m working on.
Pressure
Gentle to medium. Pregnancy isn’t the time to push through discomfort, so if something doesn’t feel right, we stop or change what we’re doing straight away.
What to tell me beforehand
- How far along you are, and your due date
- Any complications, or anything your doctor or midwife has told you to avoid
- Swelling, headaches, dizziness or anything that’s new for you
- Areas that are sore, and anything you’d like me to skip
Massage is not a substitute for prenatal care. If something you describe sounds like it needs your provider’s attention, I’ll ask you to call them before we go ahead.
Session length and price
60 minutes, $80.
A few quick questions
Is it okay to get a massage while pregnant?
Often, yes, with your provider’s approval. Please check first and tell me about your pregnancy when you book.
Can I lie on my stomach?
That’s not comfortable later in pregnancy. I use pillows and positioning so you stay comfortable and supported.
