Postpartum Massage for Women in Lake Mary

Unhurried care for the body that did the work, and an hour that’s only about you.

What it is

Postpartum massage is a gentle, supportive session for new mothers. Many women find the neck, shoulders, upper back and arms carry a lot after weeks of feeding, lifting and carrying. The aim is rest and comfort.

Who it’s for

  • New mothers who would like an hour that is just theirs
  • Women whose provider has said it’s fine to resume massage

Before you book

Please check with your doctor or midwife about when massage is right for you, particularly after a cesarean or any complication, and tell me about your delivery and how you’re feeling. I’ll adapt the session, and I may ask you to wait if your provider advises it.

What a session feels like

You’ll be covered by a sheet and blanket, and I’ll uncover only the area I’m working on. The pace is slow and the pressure is light to medium, focused on the shoulders, neck, upper back and arms if that’s where you feel it most. You can talk, or you can rest in silence.

Pressure

Gentle to medium, and always yours to change. Your body is still recovering, so we go at whatever pace feels right that day.

What to tell me beforehand

  • When you gave birth, and whether it was vaginal or a cesarean
  • Any complications or advice from your doctor or midwife
  • Areas that are sore or tender, including any surgical site
  • Whether you’re breastfeeding, so we can plan comfortable positioning

Massage is not a substitute for postpartum care. If you’re worried about how you’re healing, please call your provider.

Session length and price

60 minutes, $80.

A few quick questions

How soon after birth can I book?

That depends on your delivery and your provider’s advice. Please check with them first and tell me when you book.

Can I bring my baby?

This hour is just for you, so I ask that you arrange care for your baby beforehand. That way you can fully relax without anything to watch over.
